Step 1
Initial consultation
Our initial consultation is the first step in the garden design process. We listen and get an understanding the client’s needs and wishes for garden design. This first consultation visit is free and non obligation.

Initial consultation enquires outside a 20 mile radius of the Sunderland area would require a small fee of £10.

I outline the full design service step by step. A portfolio of previous design plans are also available to view should you wish to view or read testimonials. A short site visit is included where brief notes are taken for my reference.

Step 2
Client brief
Should you then decide to commission a garden design a client questionnaire will be forwarded and would require you to complete and return before I can begin to draw up a scaled A1 garden design plan. The client questionnaire is a simple questionnaire that allows you to set out your requirements and helps me gain an understanding of your likes and dislikes for the proposed garden area. This information is confirmed in a client brief that simply requires your signature to confirm I have understood your design requirements.

Step 3
The site survey and soil test
A site visit of up to 1 ½ hrs is required to record an accurate survey of the site. Existing features are measured along with heights, levels, orientation and shade patterns.  A soil sample is a must to establish soil type and ph.

Photographic notes will be taken and used to outline the design ideas for an outline sketch.

This information will then be used along with the client brief information to form the basis for the scaled garden design plan. Axonometric elevations (3d drawings) are available at additional cost if required. A mood board to enhance visuals are also available at a small additional cost if required. Outline sketch will be shown for approval before the scaled can begin.

Step 4
Design process
All the information gathered in the consultaion, client brief and site survey will be used to form the basis of the garden design. A scaled A1 size scaled garden plan will be produced and complete with detailed planting plan.

This plan is scaled and ready for contractors to work from.

Step 5
Presentation appointment.
A time convenient with yourself will be arranged in order to present the completed garden design.
The garden design fee is payable before any plan is presented.

The garden design plan will be explained in detail so a greater understanding of how the garden will look throughout the changing seasons.
